Frequently Asked Questions
Do you work with clients who have never spoken to a counselor before?
Yes! For many of our patients at Mercy Counseling Services, this is their first experience with a counselor.
How do you deal with the awkwardness and vulnerability of opening up to a complete stranger?
Very good question. Pace is very important here. It's more important to establish a relationship built on trust than leaping ahead to problem solving.
What is your new client procedure?
The intake is easy and all can be completed right online from your cell phone or computer.
Is my information protected?
Yes! Mercy Counseling Services uses a HIPAA compliant secure online platform for all notes and video visits.
Are your visits in person or virtual?
All of our visits at this time are virtual.
What if I am nervous to start counseling?
Great question. It's good to give it a try and see how the first couple of sessions go. After the third session, assess and then make a decision to stop or continue with counseling.
Where did the counseling staff get their education from?
Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary! All three of our staff have graduated from there.
